Insurance Details

We work with most major dental plans. Before treatment, we can help check your benefits, explain your coverage, and share an up-front estimate so you know what to expect.

Payment is required at the office, and we send the claim to your insurance company for you, so there’s no paperwork to fill out. Your insurer then pays you back directly. For CDCP patients, we bill Sun Life directly, so you only pay your co-payment.

Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Yes. We proudly accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). Our team reviews your coverage with you, explains any out-of-pocket costs before treatment, and helps you get the care you need. We bill Sun Life directly, so you only pay your co-payment and any difference between our fee and the CDCP fee. Learn how CDCP works.

What is Waterlase laser dentistry, and does it hurt?

Waterlase is a breakthrough minimally invasive technology that combines laser light with a continuous spray of water to gently remove decay and treat soft tissue. Because it generates no heat, friction, or vibration like traditional metal drills, in many cases no needles are needed. Read our Waterlase guide.

What should I do in a dental emergency on Carling Avenue?

Call us at (613) 829-6545 as early as possible. We do our best to see you promptly during office hours. If you have facial swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency department.

Where are you located and is there parking?

We're at 1852 Carling Avenue, at the corner of Carling and Maitland, across from Produce Depot and next to the Petro-Canada, between Carlingwood Mall and Westboro. Free parking is available right at our office. We offer free dedicated parking right at our building with ground-level wheelchair accessibility.

How does my private dental insurance work with your office?

Payment is required at the office, and we submit the claim to your insurance company on your behalf, so you don’t have to deal with any paperwork. Your insurer then reimburses you directly for the covered amount.

Yes! We are always happy to welcome new families to our Carling Avenue practice. Whether you are looking for a routine cleaning or have a specific dental concern, we would love to meet you.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first visit is all about getting to know you. We’ll perform a gentle exam, take digital scans with our TRIOS technology (no messy goop!), and discuss your goals for your smile. We never rush; we take the time to ensure you feel comfortable and informed.

What is “Non-Invasive” or “Minimal Intervention” dentistry?

It’s a philosophy of saving as much of your natural tooth as possible. Instead of aggressive drilling, we use advanced tools to find and treat issues early. This leads to smaller fillings, less discomfort, and longer-lasting results for your teeth.

What are the benefits of a TRIOS digital scanner?

Say goodbye to uncomfortable, gag-inducing putty impressions. The TRIOS scanner is a small wand that takes a 3D digital map of your mouth in seconds. It’s faster, much more comfortable, and incredibly accurate for crowns, bridges, and Invisalign.

I’m very nervous about dental visits. How can you help?

You are not alone, and there is no judgment here. Dr. Okhravi has over 15 years of experience helping anxious patients. We focus on the calm side of dentistry with a quiet environment, gentle techniques, and the use of lasers to reduce the sounds and sensations that cause anxiety.

Do you see children?

Absolutely! We love seeing families. Our gentle, non-invasive tools (like the laser) can be less intimidating for children than traditional dental equipment.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Fridays are available by appointment only to accommodate more complex procedures in a quiet setting.
