What is it, in plain words?

Every dental chair has thin tubes, called waterlines, that carry water to the tools we use: the little air-and-water sprayer, the cleaning tool that removes tartar, and the handpieces. Because the tubes are narrow and water can sit in them between patients, dental offices have to take real care to keep them clean.

Starting with purified water is one of the strongest foundations for that care. Our VistaPure system removes minerals and impurities from the water before it ever reaches a dental chair or a sterilizer.

Where the purified water goes

  1. Dental chair water bottles. Each chair draws from its own bottle, which we fill with purified water. That is the water you feel during a cleaning or a filling.
  2. Sterilizers. Our sterilizers use high-pressure steam to kill germs on instruments. They need very pure water to work properly.

Why it matters to you

Clean water in your mouth

Public health guidance for dental offices says the water used in routine treatment should meet drinking-water standards. Purified water, along with regular waterline care, helps us meet that standard.

Sterilization that works as it should

Tap water contains minerals that can leave chalky spots on instruments and build up inside a sterilizer. Purified water helps every cycle run cleanly and reliably.

Equipment that stays reliable

Less mineral build-up means less wear on our chairs and sterilizers, so your appointment isn’t held up by equipment that needs repairs.

Peace of mind

You shouldn’t have to wonder whether the water in a dental office is clean. We take care of it behind the scenes so you don’t have to.

Good to know

  • You won’t see, taste, or feel anything different. Good infection control is meant to be invisible.
  • Purified water is one part of a larger routine that includes cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and sterilizing instruments between every patient.
  • Curious about how we keep things clean? Ask us at your visit. We’re always happy to walk you through it.
