Our commitment
We’re committed to providing our services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Our website
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Our website:
- works with a keyboard, with a “Skip to content” link and visible focus outlines
- uses clear headings and landmarks, so screen readers can move around each page
- describes meaningful images with text alternatives
- keeps decorative videos silent and hidden from screen readers, and calms animations when your device asks for reduced motion
- keeps our phone number and booking button within reach on every page
We check our pages with automated accessibility tools and by keyboard, and we fix problems when we find them.
Known limitations
- Online booking runs in EngageB, a service we don’t control. If it doesn’t work well for you, call us at (613) 829-6545 and we’ll book your visit by phone.
- The embedded Google map can be hard to use with a screen reader. Our address and a directions link are right beside it.
Information in other formats
If you’d like information from our website or office in another format, such as large print or read aloud over the phone, ask us and we’ll work with you to provide it.
Visiting our office
- Our office has ground-level wheelchair access and free parking right at the building.
- Service animals and support persons are welcome.
- If you need anything to make your visit easier, call us before your appointment at (613) 829-6545 and we’ll help plan it.
Tell us about a barrier
We welcome your feedback about accessibility. Call us at (613) 829-6545, email reception@carlingharmonydental.ca, tell us in person, or write to us at 1852 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON K2A 1E3. We’ll get back to you and let you know what we’ll do about it.
